KaNyamazane man accused of killing his girlfriend applies for bail

Political organisations in Mpumalanga have since committed that they will support the victim's family until the case is finalised and justice served.

Today, Wednesday September 6, marks the first day of the much-anticipated bail application of a KaNyamazane man, accused of killing his girlfriend last weekend.

Mduduzi Mdluli was arrested last week shortly after her girlfriend, Busisiwe Lekhuleni was found dead.

Mdluli first made an appearance in the KaBokweni Magistrate’s Court last Wednesday, August 30, and was remanded in custody and instructed to return today for his formal bail application.

The deceased’s family is blaming the police for moving at a snail’s pace with the investigation and trying to protect the suspect in this matter.

Debra Ngwenya said they want justice for their daughter.

“Our daughter was brutally murdered. We believe that she was smashed and stoned. It’s painful for us as a family because we have lost our child,” said Ngwenya.

Lekhuleni was laid to rest on Saturday.
