Mpumalanga education MEC says countdown for Grade 12 final exams has begun

MEC Bonakele Majuba gave a motivational address to the matric learners in the Cottondale Circuit.

With about 70 days left before the Grade 12 learners commence with the National Senior Certificate Examination, MEC Bonakele Majuba gave a motivational address at the Moses Mnisi High School in the Cottondale Circuit on Friday August 18. Mpumalanga has 71 circuits, and Cottondale ranks number 39.

“It is often said that through the sweat of diligence and rhythm of preservation, one forges a path to greatness, where dreams find their wings and aspirations become reality,” said Majuba. “Today, Class of 2023, we have come to ensure that you take the courage and open your wings to fly so that your aspirations become a reality. Our urgency here is to underscore the urgency of preparation and doing one’s best to enable you to pass your examination and to qualify for admission at tertiary institutions for your chosen future careers.”

Majuba said the Grade 12 exit point marks the summit point of schooling and decision-making to transition from secondary school to tertiary institutions.

“Such a transition, therefore, can determine success or failure. Our presence today is to ensure that everyone is nudged towards the right side of success. The department, your parents and the community are rallying behind you, because you are the hope of our province. You, my children, are the class of dreams, because of what we expect from you, and mostly of what we know you can do.”

“The examinations are set to commence on Monday October 30,” he said.

“Those of you who have not yet started studying, should do so, and be reminded that there is now no weekend or holiday for you, as every day should be efficiently utilised for schoolwork to guarantee you pass at the end of the year.”
