Diamond Diggers shine against all obstacles in KaNyamazane

The Save a Boy Child football tournament aimed to nature young boys on their journey to discovering their talent in soccer.

Young soccer players battled it out on the field during the Save a Boy Child football tournament at ChafZar sport field on August 5.
The tournament that brought the stadium to life, was hosted by the Lisango Lemadvodza, KaNyamazane Football Development League and ChafZar Lifestyle. It attracted various communities from KaNyamazane, Tekwane South and more. They came out to cheer the young players.

The games started with the semi-finals. Four teams faced one another.
In the first game, Likazi Youngsters played against Tekwane Sport Academy. The players gave it their best, although at the end, Likazi Youngsters FC won with 1-0.

In the second match, Diamond Diggers played against KaNyamazane Young Cosmos. This seemed to be a challenging game, because at the end, both teams failed to score a single goal. The teams went to penalties and Diamond Diggers won 5-4.
In the third game, KaNyamazane Young Cosmos played against Tekwane Sport Academy and Tekwane won by 2-1.

In the finals, Diamond Diggers played Likazi Youngster FC, and the champions of the day were Diamond Diggers.
According to Pr Sipho Langa, a representative of Lisango Lemadvodza, said the programme was committed to promote, educate, empower, rehabilitate, and provide welfare and social justice for every boy.

This initiative aims to strengthen the capacity of young boys to deal with challenges, making them independent and build their self-esteem, and in doing so, minimise the risk of bad behaviour.
“As an organisation, our aim is to support boys so they can make life choices that lead to improving their skills.”
