Masoyi pastors take worship and praise to the streets

Pr Prince Mathebula led a worship and praise session out on a busy street in Dayizenza to encourage residents to live a life with God.

Pastors in the Masoyi area took to the streets on Sunday evening to preach the gospel during a worship and praise session.

Pr Prince Mathebula (26) led the session, called God’s Time Revival, which attracted some residents on the corner opposite the Buscor Masoyi Depot next to the R538.

For this session, he partnered with Pr Enoris Manyike, who was on the keyboard, rendering musical strings to accompany the preaching and has his own church called the Angelic Ambassadors Worshipping Church in KaMajika. They were later joined by another local pastor, Tsakani Mathebula.

The young Mathebula said the aim of the session to be held in the street is to get the word of God out to the public, especially to those who had given up on attending church services.

“I do this as we have been instructed in the Bible to preach the gospel to the public. I host such sessions to invite people into living a life with God. The people who need saving, are the ones in the streets, rather than those already in a church.”

He said he does not have his own church, but preaches in public and usually at the parking lot at the Dayizenza Plaza.

“The session on Sunday evening was the second one at that location. I don’t have my own church but other churches invite me to preach during their Sunday services or events.”

During his preaching, he encourages the youth to accept God as their Saviour and to live a Godly life.

Prince said he understands the various reasons and challenges people face in churches that discourage them from continuing to attend one.

“A word of encouragement to church leaders is to treat congregants the same way God treats His people. In the eyes of God, we are all the same, no one is higher than another.” Mathebula said he accepted God as his Saviour in 2014 and started preaching in 2015 while in high school.

“What is in my heart and my calling is to establish a hub that will be a spiritual home for the community, a drop-in centre for those without homes and a skills development centre. By the grace of God, that dream will become true.”
