Middelburg musician celebrates 20 spectacular years in the industry

Takalani Mkansi known as Dosline is building his brand even bigger by hosting his own music festival called Sunday Sundowners.

Most music lovers may know him as one of the Mpumalanga’s music icons. Takalani Mkansi, known as Dosline, aims to bring on the heat with some deep house sounds. With 20 years in the music industry, he has managed to grow his career to a spectacular level.

He is currently embarking on hosting the next big festivals in Middelburg, called the Sunday Sundowners, which are deep house sessions featuring local DJs. He has hosted two of these free of charge for patrons to enjoy good music.

“This is Mpumalanga’s very own platform that seeks to promote deep house musicians. This is what makes it unique from amapiano and hip-hop. The last two sessions were jam-packed and to my surprise, people came out in their numbers to enjoy the soulful sound of house music,” he said.

Mkansi said this platform is one of his music career highlights, of which he has many. He does not box himself into a genre, and has made music in different genres, including deep tech, gqom, kwaito and ampiano.

“Some of the highlight in my career since 2003 is performing on big stages such as the Durban July and being part of the line-up for the 2023 Metro FM Music Awards’ after party. I have played sets for leading radio stations in the country and worked with big names in the music industry.”

He said there is still more paths he will embark on, but at the moment, his music lovers can enjoy his latest single, “Thandolwethu”.

“I released that song in November, and I will be dropping the video for it soon. This is an amazing song about love, and I believe people have showed loved for it so far,” Mkansi said.
