Metro FM Music Awards 2023 finally here at Mbombela Stadium

A countdown to the coveted awards has begun and the upcoming weekend will see musicians being honoured for their contribution in the South African music industry.

The wait is finally over. The much-anticipated return of the annual Metro FM Music Awards (MMAs) is here at last.

Billed for Saturday May 6, at the trusted Mbombela Stadium, the award ceremony promises a weekend filled with music and entertainment.

Proceedings begin on May 4, with the Metro FM Music conference taking place at the Mbombela Civic Centre.
Day two will see the Metro FM pre-party taking over Mbombela at the Prestige Lifestyle Grand.

Both the music conference and the pre-party will be hosted by one of Mpumalanga’s finest events management and entertainment companies, Nabalabantfu.

The group director of Nabalabantfu, Delani Mofokeng, said the conference is a community development project where Metro FM music compilers, publishers, presenters and management engage with those interested in the industry.

“The conference will include anyone from amateur level to community-radio level, and also current local musicians and DJs who would like to make it big in the music industry with Metro FM as the leading mainstream and commercial station. The conference will mainly be a platform to engage and share information and create a legacy project for the Mpumalanga government as a key stakeholder to the MMAs,” said Mofokeng.

They have partnered with legendary artists such as Vinny Da Vincy, Christos and Ralf Gum, who will all be part of the conference with Ligwalagwala FM talent on the panel.
