Upcoming Manyeveni artist Kgzoo bags one million streams

Afro deep house artist Kgoputso Maphosa's EP 'Enshonalanga' is set to take its fans by storm.

The upcoming Afro deep house artist and producer, Kgoputso Maphosa’s EP “Enshonalanga” has broken the charts by receiving an overwhelming one million streams under Gums Music and 16 315 followers on Spotify.

Famously known as Kgzoo, this talented muso on the rise told Lowvelder Express that he would not have achieved such a feat had it not been for the support of his fans.

“Their streams, shares and feedback mean the world to me, and I am truly humbled by each and every one of them for showing their support. I am so grateful for the opportunity to create music that resonates with them, and I hope that it continues to bring joy and happiness into their lives,” said Kgzoo.

The young and vibrant artist is taking the Afro deep house industry by storm. Kgzoo has recently released an EP with Classic Desire SA titled Baobab Stargate, which contains three tracks, already available on all digital platforms.

“My music is inspired by the passion I have for the craft. I started making music when I was 13, and so it is within me. I express myself through beats. Even when I was in high school, I would spend a lot of my time on YouTube channels watching lessons on how to create beats.”

He said he has worked with South African DJs and vocalists, including Malumz on Desk, DJ Classic Desire SA, Nana Alter, Skye Wonder, Mobi Dixon and Lady Zama, just to mention a few.

In 2022, his song “Ishongalanga” was featured on a popular online show for deep house, called Select, hosted by DJ Anthony James from London as the song of the week.

“Being recognised internationally was a dream come true, but I really would like for the people from my home province, Mpumalanga, to also support me,” he said. On parting, he said the artists he wishes to work with in future are Black Coffee and Billie Eilish.
