Standerton Afropop sensation to drop hot album

Sibusisio Hlatshwayo said he will release his debut album this year.

Experimenting with different kinds of music is what versatile musician Sibusisio Hlatshwayo, also known as Chilla Flamez, is all about.

The sensation from Standerton started with kwaito, influenced by the likes of Mzambia and Msawawa, and moved on to house and hip-hop. He is now into Afropop and working towards his debut album to be released this year.

“I have fallen in love with Afropop because it blends well with my vocal range,” he said.

Although Hlatshwayo could not confirm when exactly the 15-track album would be released, he said it would help him to make his mark on the Mpumalanga music industry.

“I have been working on this album for some time. I infused Afropop with amapiano. I can confirm that it will be amazing,” the singer-songwriter said.
Hlatshwayo said he has been a music lover from a young age.

“I participated in choir from an early age and started writing at the age of 12. I love music and I taught myself to be an independent artist. It gives me the freedom to experiment with whatever genre I feel like. I believe that is what makes me unique.

“My latest single titled ‘Amasilent killer’ has been doing great. It is about people who constantly betray us. It has a message that people can relate to, which is something I always strive to provide in my music,” he said.
