A momentous future lies ahead for young KaNyamazane actor

Tsakani Shabangu is working very hard to make it into the mainstream entertainment industry.

Nsikazi is home to talented young individuals who have high aspirations of breaking into the mainstream entertainment industry.

One such young creative, Tsakani Momentous Shabangu, is among the best upcoming actors to come out of this township.

He is a model, poet and actor, and is becoming a force to be reckoned with. This 19-year-old has rubbed shoulders with big brand names in the art sphere.

He was coached and trained by the late South African actor, playwright, theatre director and former director of Babuyile Community Theatre Group, the icon Mncedisi Baldwin Shabangu, who was best known for his role as Khulekani Ngobese on South African TV musical drama series Rhythm City.

Tsakani has been in acting and plays since 2016, under the production of Mpumalanga Motion Pictures. He has also had an opportunity to get a role in the province’s own movie, Ingabe Ngonani, produced by Thulani Mandlazi, founder of Mpumalanga Motion Pictures.

Tsakani said he has been inspired by this province’s flowers, such as Hungani Malcolm Ndlovu, known as Romeo on Scandal, and Mncedisi Baldwin.”Since I was a little child, my daily passion has been acting, thus I have always wanted to be an actor. I aspire to be an international actor, musician, and Mr South Africa. Since acting is my first love, I give it everything, because I don’t have a backup plan in life; all I know is the entertainment industry.

“Being featured on some of the movies produced locally is something big for me, a foundation.

“My family is very supportive, and being a creative means everything, it means I am my ancestors’ wildest dreams.”

He said that upcoming local artists do not get enough support from their communities.”People have little faith in us, and it is worrisome to see them not supporting and encouraging their own.

I believe families and communities don’t support young people who are actors, musicians and models unless they see them on TV, and I wish that would stop, because charity begins at home, and our homes are our communities. People around us need to appreciate us and stop discouraging our dreams,” said Tsakani.

He will be modelling with the ABM Foundation, as he is the sixth Mr Mpumalanga finalist for 2023.
