Nsikazi’s versatile artist aims high in his music career

Mpendulo Ngobe is a singer-songwriter, music producer and co-owns a recording studio in Pienaar.

Mpendulo Ngobe, stage name Däck Courage, carries quite a few titles in the professional music industry, but will forever pride himself on embarking on being a music producer.

This young and versatile singer-songwriter, music producer and record label co-manager from Pienaar is a force to be reckoned with.

Ngobe said his love of music can be traced back to when he was just a boy.

“My father’s love for music also influenced me to inherit the passion. I have seen him struggle, but it has been an encouragement to embrace my love for music, especially the different forms of it. I write, sing and produce songs for other local artists like myself and co-manage a recording label, Buhlebetive Records, with my father, Mandla Ngobe, to which we have signed quite a few artists,” he said.

He said support from his parents have been a driving force behind his music and also recently dropping an EP with three songs.

“The EP is a Christian rap genre titled Lift You Higher. The three songs are about giving thanks to the Lord and acknowledging Him that He is life,” Ngobe said.

The musician has an Afro-pop single titled “Amathousand” for which he collaborated with other local talents.

He said he wishes to work alongside vocalists and producers.

“I believe working with other local talents will allow us the opportunity to grow and ultimately get to work with musical giants one day. We need to support one another more than we support musicians outside our province. Support is not about listening to the music, but helping to grow one’s listenership,” Ngobe said.
