Bafana Bafana to face Mozambique and Angola in Mbombela Stadium

Soccer fans will enjoy two matches in one week.

Mpumalanga’s soccer fanatics will enjoy the opportunity to watch Bafana Bafana live when they tackle their international friendly against Angola and Mozambique right on their doorstep.
The national team will face Mozambique on Thursday November 17 and Angola on Sunday November 20.

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has named a 30-member preliminary squad for these friendly international matches.

It will be trimmed to 23 players when Broos announces his final list for the two matches next week.

Melusi Buthelezi from Mpumalanga and a goalkeeper of TS Galaxy are among the preliminary squad.
According to a statement by the South African Football Association (Safa), Broos’s team kicks off when they play against Mozambique at 20:30 and then tackle the Angolans three days later at the same venue.
By the time of going to press, Safa had said the time for the match against the Angolans would still be announced.

The Belgian coach will use the two games against the neighbouring countries as part of his preparation for the resumption of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in March.

Bafana Bafana will go into camp on Sunday November 13.
The last time the national team played in Mbombela was in 2016 against Mauritania.

Mthuthu Zondo, the spokesperson for Mbombela Stadium, said they would like to encourage the public to support these much-anticipated games.
He said information regarding the ticket prices will be announced as soon as it is available.
