TS Galaxy to embark on European tour during their preseason
The Rockets will play two Turkish giants, Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, to acquire some throrough European experience. The technical team aims to learn and acquire new skills, too
To keep fit and provide their squad with some European football experience, TS Galaxy will visit Turkey this December, when they will play against two Turkish giants participating in the Süper Lig.
The Rockets will play against Galatasaray, one of Turkey’s top teams with a strong reputation in European football. They round up their trip against Fenerbahçe, another notable team, also with a strong reputation, having won the UEFA Champions League, Turkish Süper Lig and UEFA Europa League.

According to the team’s spokesperson, Minenhle Mkhize, this tour will help them regroup and return as a very competitive force to be reckoned in the DStv Premiership.
The team joined the elite league during the time of Covid-19 and have been struggling with results.
Mkhize said they are sure that the European trip will be good for the team.
“Our problem has always been the lack of scoring goals, but with the exposure of playing against experienced teams from Europe such as Fenerbahçe, with a good goal scoring reputation, we believe that they will certainly immensely benefit us.
“We will learn a lot and bring that experience to South Africa. The tour will play a pivotal role as our players will gain experience from top teams and will be able to use that experience in the fight for a place in the top eight,” added Mkhize.

“Most of our boys will be travelling to Europe for the first time and I can say they are a bit scared and not sure what to expect, but they are really excited as some will meet their idols and who will help boost their confidence. It’s not only the players who will come back with some experience, but our technical team also stands to benefit.”
Mkhize said the tour would play a pivotal role in their search for sponsors.
“Remember, we are a new team and sponsorship is also a bit of a challenge, but with this trip, we hope that we will build new relationships and attract sponsors,” he concluded.
The venues and the dates of the games have not been decided yet and will be confirmed in due course. TS Galaxy are planning on staying in Turkey a maximum of 10 days.
