Summer Blaze brings the heat at Nkomazi village

The grand Kasi2Kasi activation was hosted in Magudu and saw a great number of individuals showcasing their talents.

The 013 Summer Blaze festival brought the heat over the past weekend during a Kasi2Kasi activation. The grand festival took place at a village called Magudu on the outskirts of Nkomazi.

The activation attracted over 4 000 people who showcased their small businesses and talents. One of the organisers, Zakhele Mbatsane, said the purpose of hosting the grand activation in this small village was to allow its people to engage in the tourism sector.

“The village is far and the people do not have the luxury of entertainment like the places close to Mbombela. The main objective was to turn a village into a tourist attraction.

“It attracted people from eSwatini and saw a great number of entrepreneurs showcasing their products and services that uplifted their economy,” Mbatsane said.

Only local musicians were on the entertainment line-up for the day, which he said was intentional.

“The 013 Summer Blaze festival was an entertainment hub for the people of Mpumalanga and we encourage more local artists to participate during the many more Kasi2Kasi activations,” Mbatsane said.

More activations will be hosted at different venues around the Lowveld.

“People may also look out for the two-day soccer tournament to take place at Ebukhosini Resort on November 19 and 20, and the spectacular 4×4 Experience in the Makhonjwa Mountains in Barberton on November 26.”

The massive festival at Mbombela Stadium on December 3 hopes to attract thousands of people in the province to enjoy entertainment from internationally acclaimed musicians such as AKA, Nasty C, Mdu Masilela, Mellow and Sleazy, and Robot Boii. Joining the hot line-up are some of the country’s talents, Zola 7 and KO.

Mbatsane said more than 15 Mpumalanga-based musicians will share the stage with these big artists.
