TS Galaxy go into FIFA break with a dull draw

The Rockets looked the better side but could not convert their scoring opportunities into goals

Mpumalanga Province’s lone DStv Premiership campaigners, TS Galaxy, have a lot of work to do during the long FIFA break for the World Cup.
This is after The Rockets once again failed to ignite on home soil when they were held to an all-one draw by Sekhukhune United on Sunday.
The last time Tim Sukazi’s team won a match at Mbombela Stadium was on August 14 when they defeated SuperSport United 2-0.

Since this match, Galaxy registered two losses at the hands of Cape Town City and Gallants respectively.
The home team are 12th on the log with 13 points after 12 games.
Last season Galaxy were in the same position and it nearly cost them their Premiership status as they had to fight tooth and nail to avoid relegation.

Even though Galaxy opened this season’s encounters like a house on fire, registering back-to-back wins against defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns and Supersport United, as the season progressed the team seemed to lose the spark they had.

On Sunday Galaxy looked the better side but could not covert their scoring opportunities into goals.
They were rewarded in the 27th minute through Xola Mlambo’s fine goal.
Galaxy’s lead was short lived as Sekhukhune United stole an equaliser from the penalty spot.
The game did not produce any magical moments and finished in a stalemate.

This was The Rockets’ final home contest before the FIFA break. They will return to Mbombela in January 2023 when they will host Stellenbosch FC.
TS Galaxy head coach, Sead Ramovic, when responding to the outcome of the encounter, said his side failed to utilise created chances.
“We had a lot of counter-attacks which we could have easily benefited from. We dominated possession, we controlled the game with a good rhythm but failed to win. We will continue to work hard and fight till we make the top eight,” he said.

Ramovic also took the time and explained the injury situation in the camp.
“Marks Munyai and Ebrahim Seedat have not been featured in the past eight games due to injuries and that has had a negative impact on our defence. Tshegofatso Nyama is currently occupying the left back position in the absence of Seedat who sustained a knee injury in training, while Kamogelo Sebelebele is occupying the right back in the absence of Munyai. I can say they have been performing with distinction. We will support the injured players and hopefully they will return in the second half of the season as they are well recovering,” he concluded.
