Team Focus makes clean sweep at ANC provincial conference at Emalahleni Dam

Newly elected ANC top 5 commits to unity.

The newly elected Mpumalanga ANC top 5 officials have vowed to turn things around and work towards uniting and growing the ANC in the province.

Led by Mandla Ndlovu, whose team made a clean sweep during this elective conference, held over the weekend at Emalahleni Dam, all five officials made it clear that unity and renewal will be on top of their agenda as they assume their roles at Che January Masilela House (provincial ANC headquarters).

“The ANC is a big organisation and as such you’d expect that there be element of disrespect here and there. Sometimes you will find that members differ on opinion, which at times leads to the squabbles we are seeing now.

“But ours, as we take the baton, is to unite all our members and work together to find common solutions that would benefit the organisation,” said Ndlovu.

Ndlovu’s lobby group, called Focus, proved a force to be reckoned with during this conference. His running mate, Speedy Mashilo, who received over 500 votes out of 700, also committed to work towards the unity of the organisation.

During this conference, Muzi Chirwa was elected the new secretary with Lindiwe Ntshalintshali deputising. Mandla Msibi was elected party treasurer.

Premier Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane made it to the additional list and will serve in the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC).

Other notable names making it to the PEC include Desmond Moela, Tim Mashele, Obama Masango, Thulisile Khoza and Dinah Pule.
