Health MEC urge people to vaccinate and protect their families in this Festive
The only perfect Christmas present you can give your loved ones during this time is vaccination.
MBOMBELA – This is a message as passed on by the Mpumalanga MEC for health, Sasekani Manzini.
Manzini who has been busy travesting the province encouraging citizens to vaccinate, said the Covid-19 fourth wave and the new variant is real and deadly.
“The best way to show love to our families is to get vaccinated and the best gift this festive season is vaccination. Let’s make sure that everyone in your family gets vaccinated to prevent the further spread of Covid-19 and safely ride to 2022,” she advised. “Vaccination is our best defence against Covid-19.

Vaccines are highly effective against severe illness, hospitalisation and death. Vaccination. protect you and your family, co-workers and community. Low vaccination.coverage increases the chance that new variants will emerge.

You are specially invited to walk to your nearest vaccination.site and get your jab to protect yourself and others,” continued Manzini. “As we travel and do shopping this festive season, lets continue to adhere to all Covid-19 protocols,” she added.

She advised people to avoid crowded places such as events which can turn into super-spreader events. “It is important to isolate if diagnosed positive for Covid-19 or quarantine if exposed to a positive case or while waiting for a Covid-19 test result,” she cautioned.
According to the Covid-19 statistics in Mpumalanga, by December 6, a total of 1153 583 (37,84%) people had been vaccinated. The province had recorded 388 new cases.
