Getting vaccinated is every citizen’s moral duty – Rev Nthali

The provincial Moral Regeneration Movement has called on all citizens to go back to moral basics and get vaccinated.

Making this clarion call was the provincial chairperson of this movement, Rev Nthali, during the #ItsInYourHands vaccination drive at the Mbombela Stadium on Friday.

“We want to call on all our people in the province to lead and be guided by our morals. And as people with high moral standards, we must all go and get vaccinated,” he said.

“When God created mankind, He blessed us with the mind and the power to reason. We are His masterpiece, because He armed us with a powerful mind to see the difference between good and evil and right from wrong.

“We were made in His image, and therefore we must emulate Him by doing morally right things at all times. And right now, our morals should guide and tell us that we all need to be vaccinated and protect ourselves and our loved ones,” continued Nthali.

He said the sooner people heeded this call, the sooner life would go back to normal and churches and entertainment centres allowed to operate at full capacity.

“As a movement that advocates for moral behaviour in society, we want to encourage all our people to do the only moral thing.

We believe that vaccines save lives and it is for this reason we are making this call to all churches, mosques, temples and synagogues and to all religions and religious groupings. We need to lead by example, since we are saying we are the light of the world. Let us lead by example so that the world can follow,” appealed Nthali.

“You don’t need to listen to what other people are saying about the vaccines, but you need to make a decision yourself and do the right thing. Let us show that we are morally sound by going out in our numbers and be vaccinated,” he concluded.
