Beloved psalmist passes on
Simelane will be laid to rest on July 10 after a funeral service at Matsulu Alliance Church at 06:30.
Family members and the community mourn the death of a gifted, soulful musician and psalmist, Mmeli France Simelane (52).
Simelane suddenly passed away on July 6 after a short illness.
“Serving God and worship was all he lived for. I am shattered,” said his wife, Christine.

Simelane’s son, Sandy, shared the sad news on his Facebook page on July 7.
“ It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that my father, Mmeli Frans Simelane, has passed on. We appreciate and thank you for your messages, love and prayers,” he said.
Sandy described his father as a king, mentor and father to many. He was the best friend, supporter and husband to his mother.
