Actress joins mission to prepare pupils for exams

Sihle Ndaba, actress, entrepreneur and philanthropist, who hails from Ermelo, through her foundation launched a #WeEdUp campaign in her home town this past Friday.

The Sihle Ndaba Foundation, working with Anglo American through the Ambassadors for Good 2020, an Anglo American initiative, aims to give learners the use of an eBook plus access to experienced tutors who will assist them in preparation for their grade 12 exams.

“The #WeEdUp is a campaign that I hope will help more than 5 000 school learners by 2025. I want to bridge the ruralurban divide and attempt to provide underprivileged SA learners with the same opportunities.

The focus is on incubating critical skills for the future, to offer tutoring services to pupils by experienced mathematics and science specialist teachers to improve results in these matric subjects,” explained Ndaba.

She created the concept as she felt that small communities needed assistance especially in the math and science space so as to improve their marks and improve their future.

Ndaba recently took up a role on local TV telenovela, Gomora, where she plays the character of Ncebakazi Manzi, a beautiful and calm yet intimidating teacher at Gomora High.

This star is not only setting her eyes on only acting, but wants to become a force to be reckoned with in philanthropy. The launch also included a tutorial where Ndaba and other stakeholders showed the learners how to use the platform.
