Mpumalanga department of health to temporarily close Driekoppies clinic 

All staff who were in contact with the case will have to be quarantined.

The Mpumalanga Department of Health has taken a decision to temporarily close the Driekoppies Clinic in the Nkomazi Local Municipality after one of the staff members tested positive for COVID-19.

The tracing team is busy with the tracing of patients who were in direct contact with the case.

The clinic will be fumigated and will remain closed pending the outcome of the results.

The Department has since arranged a mobile clinic that will provide healthcare services to the community during this period.

“It is imperative that we minimise the spread of the virus at all cost.

The community can access the mobile clinic at the premises of Driekoppies clinic from tomorrow.

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused, however the safety of our staff and community comes first.” said Health MEC, Sasekani Manzini.

Manzini also reiterated that the Department is monitoring the positive case and their contacts very closely and that the community screening and testing will continue as it is assisting to identify positive cases and prevent further spread of the pandemic.
