“Comply or else you will be arrested”- Safety MEC

Gabisile Shabalala called on law enforcement officers to ensure that those who are refusing to listen are arrested.

MEC for Community Safety Security and Liaison, Gabisile Shabalala has once more called on communities to fully comply with all the provisions of the Lockdown which is currently on Day 2.

This follows observations made by authorities that there are still movements in some parts of the province despite the Lockdown.

“We have noted with great concern that there are still some individuals who are not complying with the regulations. People must stay at home and prioritize their own health, that of their  families and the entire community,” Shabalala said.

She called on the law enforcement officers to ensure that those who are refusing to listen, are arrested.

“Government is not at war with any communities but against the further spread of the virus,” she added.

She also visited the Lebombo Port of Entry in Komatipoort where she was accompanied by the Provincial Commissioner, Lt. Gen. Mondli Zuma on Friday.

Officials at the border were instructed to ensure that no movement of people takes place unless they are duly authorized during this period.
