Jealous lover sentenced to life imprisonment for killing his girlfriend
The court heard how Dumisani Shabangu ran over Siphiwe Ntombela with his car after assaulting her.
A 41-year-old man was recently sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his 32-year-old girlfriend.
On June 4, the Circuit of the Mpumalanga High Court sitting at Breyten sentenced Dumisani Shabangu to life imprisonment for the murder of Siphiwe Ntombela.

This comes after an argument they had on June 12, 2018. Dumisane thereafter took the victim to the hospital where she later died due to her injuries.
Police investigation led to the arrest of Shabangu. The court was able to prove beyond any reasonable doubt that Shabangu was responsible for the murder
General Mondli Zuma applauded the investigating officer for a job well done. On the same breath he also applauded all other role-players including witnesses, the prosecution and judiciary for ensuring a conviction and a hefty sentence. “I hope this sentence will serve as a deterrent to other would-be femicidal persons,” said Zuma.
