Alleged job scammer arrested at Rob Ferreira hospital

The Mpumalanga department of health has praised the security officials at Rob Ferreira hospital who arrested an alleged job scammer in the hospital premises on Monday.

MBOMBELA- According to the department of health, the alleged job scammer pretended to be employed at Rob Ferreira Hospital and has allegedly preyed on unsuspecting victims by promising them permanent employment in exchange for money.

The alleged job scammer has since been handed over to SAPS who arrested him on hospital premises.

Mpumalanga MEC for Health, Ms Sasekani Manzini commended the security officials and South African Police Services for arresting the suspect.

“We urged the public to be extra careful of people who pretend to be employees of the department also lookout for bogus websites and content made available to the public by scammers. The department warned members of the public against such scams and strongly condemn this act of criminality which needs to be reported to the SAPS,” said Manzini in a statement.

Manzini further said the department of health uses well-known print media, government facilities to advertise vacant posts with clear requirements.

“The Department wants to further alert the public to stop depositing money for people who are promising an admission at the Mpumalanga Nursing College. Jobs and tuition at the Mpumalanga Nursing College are free of charge,” she said.

The Department will continue to work closely with SAPS to bring such culprit to book. The public is also requested to assist by reporting scammers.
