NELSPRUIT – A 42 year old Chief Traffic Officer of the Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality in Siyabuswa, Joseph Ezekiel Selala , who was wanted for allegedly shooting and killing his two children, aged between 8 and 12, together with his 45-year-old estranged wife, has handed himself over to the police this morning.
Selala had been on the run since the incident took place on Saturday, December 7, and in the process, a warrant of arrest was issued against him. An intensive search for him was launched immediately after the incident until he handed himself over to the police station, accompanied by his legal representative.
The suspect allegedly fatally shot his two children while they were asleep, and then drove to where his wife was staying, and also fatally shot her.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner, Maj Gen Meshack Nogwanya has expressed his appreciation on the hard work and dedication displayed by the police in ensuring that the suspect is brought to book.
