The suspects fired shots at the van until it came to a complete standstill. The security guards were also disarmed and ordered to lie on the ground.

The suspects used explosives to blast the safe open.

It is alleged that the suspects might had blocked the road on both sides as no other vehicle passed the scene during the occurrence of the heist.
Police investigation is underway. The police are requesting anyone with information that may assist in their investigation to contact Brig Obed Ngwenya at 082-565-6417 or the SAPS Crime Stop Number 08600-10111.
