Six die in separate accidents

All three accidents occurred on Sunday.

A fatal crash involving two sedans occurred on R573 (Moloto Road) near Mabhoko on Sunday afternoon.

It is alleged that the Jetta with three occupants including the driver was travelling from Kwagga towards KwaMhlanga.

The Sungyong also with three occupants was from the opposite direction when they collided head on.

The driver and a passenger from the Jetta died on impact and the other passenger sustained serious injuries.

One passenger from the Sungyong also died on impact while the the driver and another passenger sustained serious injuries.

It is unclear as to what caused the crash. The road is currently closed and motorists are diverted into the Mun Road to bypass the crash

A fatal crash also occurred on the N4 Freeway between Bethal and Vandyksdrift offramps at approximately 18:30.

A Polo sedan with five occupants including the driver was allegedly travelling from Belfast towards Witbank when it lost control and overturned, killing instantly the driver and a passenger.

The other three passengers sustained serious injuries in the process. The reason for losing control of the vehicle is yet not known, CAS Middelburg SAPS.

Meanwhile at approximately 18:30 at Dalmanutha interchange on the N4 in the jurisdiction of Machadodorp Cost Centre. Two Pedestrians were knocked down by two vehicles driving towards Machado and Belfast respectively.

It is alleged that the two pedestrians were dropped off by a vehicle that gave them a lift from Belfast.

The pedestrians were allegedly drunk and when they had to cross the road, they followed each other and the one on the Esterly bound was knocked down by a Toyota Corolla (FDR 542 FS) and sustained seroius injuries. The other one on the Westerly bound was knocked down by an Isuzu LDV (RMB 014 GP) and died instantly.
