Pensioner gets 19 years for rape
Police investigations revealed that the accused had also raped the minor twice in 2012, where he gave her R5 and R10, respectively.
A 60-year-old man accused of raping an eight-year-old received a hefty sentence.
He was recently sentenced to 19 years behind bars by the Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court.
Mr Erick Mambane of Block B was arrested after he raped the minor in March 2013.

The charge sheet reveals that Mambane forced the victim into his house where he raped her.
He paid her R50 for her silence. The victim’s mother who was in hospital during the incident was informed by the victim’s teacher about the ordeal.
