Pensioner killed at Mawewe Tribal Authority

According to information at the police's disposal, the woman, who is the chief's aunt was shot dead while sleeping with three others in the same house.

Tonga police are looking for two unknown men who killed an 81-year-old woman at Mawewe tribal authority, Mgobodzi on Sunday morning.

“It is alleged that the duo broke a window in one of the bedrooms and gained entry into the house. Gunshots were heard and the chief then called police to the scene, both police and paramedics responded within a short space of time. The pensioner was declared dead on the scene,” explained Brig Leonard Hlathi police spokesperson.

“She was found with gunshot wounds on her upper body,” adds Hlathi.
