Phosa takes on Mpumalanga ANC in high court today

The Mpumalanga ANC confirmed that it was served with summons on December 8.

The Mpumalanga ANC has been served with summons to appear in the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Tuesday by ANC presidential hopeful, Dr Mathews Phosa.

He chose a court in Gauteng because he said he does not trust the ones in Mpumalanga.

Provincial secretary, Mr Mandla Ndlovu said they would defend the ANC. “We are ready for the appearance,” he said.

This follows after Phosa said he was applying for the dissolution of the provincial executive committee and nullification of the results of the provincial general council that was held on December 1.

A press conference was held at “Che” Masilela House in Mbombela after Phosa claimed during an exclusive interview with eNCA that DD Mabuza was using a “private army” to intimidate ANC members in the province opposed to his “unity” campaign.

He made the claim after a video surfaced of a group of men – some wearing caps with a camouflage motif – dancing outside a house.
Some of the men in the video pulled out firearms and fired multiple shots into the air.
Mpumalanga News tried several times to get hold of Phosa’s Mpumalanga campaign coordinator, Ronnie Malomane, but the phone rang unanswered.
