Man jailed 10 years for murder

The deceased was stabbed with the knife on the left hand side of his chest. He was rushed to a local clinic where he was certified dead on arrival.

The Tonga Regional Court sentenced a man to 10 years imprisonment for stabbing another man to death.

Mr Lwazi Sibiya was found guilty for the murder of Xolani Sibiya, who was not related to him last week.

The accused was arrested shortly after the incident in the early hours of August 23, 2015 at a liquor outlet where the fight between him and the deceased took place.
Tonga’s station commander, Brig Velisiwe Mdaka, welcomed the sentence and said this will serve as a lesson to those who engage themselves in drinking sprees in order to commit crime.

She further commended investigating officer/Sgt James Khoza for his commitment and ensuring that the accused serves his time behind bars.
