Msholozi: It is alleged that Sydney Mongwane broke into another house a few kilometres from his place in the middle of the night.
It is alleged that tenants in the house were awoken by his foot steps and screamed for help and that was when members of the community came and assaulted Mongwane severely.
“He was found in possession of a braai pack and confessed to other house robberies around,” said a member of the community who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The wounded man was then loaded onto a wheelbarrow and taken to his shack where he was found dead by his neighbours this morning.
Pathologists and White River police arrived at the scene around 08:00. The police opened a murder case.

Three men, including Mongwane’s friend, were taken into custody by the police for questioning. White River police confirmed the matter. Investigations are still continuing.
