Duo found in possession of stolen items worth thousands of Rands

The police invites members of the community who had reported housebreaking cases to visit Elukwatini police station for the purpose of identifying the remaining items.

Two suspects aged between 22 and 25 were arrested on charges of housebreaking, possession of stolen property worth R300 000.

They are also accused of resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.

Mr Sakhile Joseph Mabuza (22) and Mthokozisi Nduduzo Masuku (25) were arrested on June 27 after police detectives received information about them.

They were arrested separately from their houses at Nhlazatshe extension 6.

“Police also found Masuku to be in possession of two smart card Swazi ID’s with the same names, but different ID numbers,” says Const Peace Mbokane spokesperson for Elukwatini police.

Suspected stolen items, including furniture, electronic and hardware appliances plus brand new clothes with tags and prices were seized from the duo’s places

“This then closed some previously opened cases as evidence had surfaced. Some of the lawful owners were summoned to the station where they identified their properties which was given back to them,” adds Mbokane.

The duo will appear before the Eerstehoek Magistrate’s court today..
