A good Samaritan hijacked in White River

While on the way, the men suddenly pointed a gun at the driver and ordered him to stop and get out off his vehicle.

WHITE RIVER- A local driver escaped unharmed when he was hijacked on Monday morning.

According to Sgt Cynthia Mbokodo, spokesperson for White River police, the unsuspecting driver gave a lift to two men who were on the White River corner to Sabie around 14:10.

They then drove off with his car leaving him stranded.

The hijackers were later involved in an accident before they reached Sabie. The unknown suspects fled the scene.

“We then urge motorists not to pick up hitchhikers in the area, to avoid such instances in future,” said Mbokodo.

The Sabie police are also investigating the accident.

In a separate incident a Nissan 1400 was stolen around 09:00 on June 8 at Msholozi.

It was later found abandoned on the Numbi Road (R538).
No arrests were made in both cases.
