MARITE – Eight classrooms and the staffroom were burnt at Lamulelani Secondary School.
The incident took place yesterday during a parents meeting while the MEC for Education, Ms Reginah Mhaule and the Provincial Chairperson of the House of Traditional Leaders, Kgoshi Lameck Mokoena were addressing issues of restoring teaching and learning in the municipality.

Mhaule expressed disapproval, “As a department, we condemn such acts considering that this is the second school to be burnt this month. We urge community members who witnessed the incident to come forward with information that can lead to the arrest of those who are involved.

A meeting will be held today with prinicipals and teachers at the Marite Community Hall for a way forward.
