Three suspects nabbed for possession of rhino horns

CORK TRUST – Elukwatini K9, TRT Thohoyandou, responded to a tip-off of three men and a woman who were in possession of rhino horns this morning.

A man was found outside with a white plastic bag comprising two rhino horns. He tossed the plastic at a neighbour’s yard and tried to escape.
Upon entering the house, a woman and two men were found. A hunting rifle with a silencer, 458 calibre firearm, a small axe and two knives were recovered in the house.
The three culprits are charged with possession of rhino horns, unlicensed firearm and ammunition. The suspects are due to appear at the Calcutta Magistrate’s Court.
