Seeing that his ex girlfriend had lost consciousness, he then carried her weak body to a secluded place where he left her to die.

KWAGGAFONTEIN – A 31-year-old man who killed and dumped the body of his ex-girlfriend in the veld, was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.

Mr Reuben Medupi Mphahleli was handed down the hefty sentenced by the Kwaggafontein Circuit of the High Court on March 10 as a result of the incident which occurred on December 20, 2015 where he killed his former girlfriend Nomsa Khoza (25).

The court heard that Mphahleli visited Khoza’s home and demanded to see her on the pretence that he wanted to talk to her.

He then took her to his friend’s place at Kameelrivier where an argument ensued between the two with Mphahleli ending up stabbing Khoza with a bottle before strangling her. Seeing that she had lost her consciousness, Mphahleli then carried Khoza’s weak body to a secluded place where he left her to die.
