TS Galaxy faces the music

Those caught on the wrong side of the law will pay a heavy price; be it match or club officials – be warned

TS Galaxy, who campaign in the Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League, is among the several teams from the province that has felt the wrath of the South African Football Association (SAFA) Disciplinary Committee (DC).
Galaxy, who is owned by renown legal practitioner – Tim Sukazi, has been fined R10 000 for assaulting match officials. R5 000 of the amount is payable while the remaining R5 000 was suspended. Galaxy was also ordered to write an apology to SAFA and to the match officials on top of the fine.
A video footage showing Galaxy officials assaulting match officials, which was posted by Lowveld Media last November, went viral. This was after Galaxy had gone down 2-1 to Acornbush United in their league encounter that was held at Vaalbank Artificial Stadium.

United eventually won the match 2-1, courtesy of goals by Kinut Ngubo and Khehla Ntozelizwe. Galaxy’s goal was scored by Tswarelo Tlala. Tebogo Monthlante, SAFA legal officer warned that those who will be found in the wrong side of the law will pay a heavy price.
“Contrary to some perception that we are not doing enough to root out unruly behavior and corruption within the ABC Motsepe League, we are working hard to make sure that everything is done above board. Those caught on the wrong side of the law will pay a heavy price; be it match or club officials – be warned,” said Montlhante.
