On November 20, a group of local women are planning to visit the families of the three miners still trapped underground to offer comfort.

Ms Elsie Maluka-Zulu of Lubambano Labo-Make, which is a group formed by various women societies around the Mbombela area, says the ongoing agony being felt by the family members of the three was unbearable even to them.

“As women from around the Mbombela area (Lubambano Labo-Make), we have been in prayers with the families of the three since day one (February 5, when the Lily Mine collapsed).

On November 20 we will be visiting the families of the three to render a prayer of comfort and hope to them,” said Maluka-Zulu.

She said with Christmas drawing closer and the families of the three having no one to support them, especially their children, they will also be donating gifts to the families.

“We have been collecting financial donations and bought goodies for the families, which we will also hand out during the prayer day.
