Festival line-up tantalises music taste buds

The festival seeks to promote tourism and celebrate the rich cultural diversity in the province. According to the co-founder of MPUCA, Thabo Sekele, #MpumalangaComesAlive in conjunction with Casterbridge Music Development, will offer aspiring artists in the province an important mechanism through which to stay in touch with the evolving techniques and trends of the broader music industry.

A festival of urban and soulful sounds is set to bring a dynamic vibe to Mbombela from September 30 to October 2.

To close off Tourism Month this September, the eigth Annual Mpumalanga Comes Alive Festival (MPUCA) returns with a scintillating weekend of good music, tourism and social responsibility. The MPUCA All White Sunday Soul Session will showcase the best pop-up stores, fabulous cocktails, best fashion designers, spectacular arts and crafts Mpumalanga has to offer.

It will be hosted at the Dream South Lounge on the N4 and will feature the province’s finest Jay Spitter, Afrotraction, Pressure and AJ, Sweetmike with Vusi Nova, Amon Mokoena, TlakiBest and Ishmael Abrahams. Come dressed in all-whites and enjoy the taste of Mpumalanga cuisine and craft beer and cocktails.

The talented Ligwalagwala FM personalities will be the hosts and MCs for the events. Afternoon host, Shabbisto, fresh and energetic Willie Da Voice, sultry fashionista KhayaAngel, evergreen Lungile
Mhango and talented Sweetmike will form part of the line-up.

“We thought it was high time that the brand stood on its own as we have ambitions to grow it to greater heights.

“I would like to wish all the music and arts lovers from the Mpumalanga, other provinces and outside the borders of our country, an enjoyable and memorable festival.

“It is my wish that as the MPUCA patrons descend on Mbombela, they come and enjoy themselves with care, responsibily,” said Sekele.

The Pre-Party on September 30 will be held at Cappucino, I’langa Mall at a cost of R150 and will feature Lulocafe, China, Fistaz Mixwell, DJ Ocean, Trevor Dee, PH and DJ Zoe. It will be hosted by Shabbisto of Ligwagwala FM.

The main event on October 1 will be held at the Mbombela Stadium where the entrance fee has been set at only R10 which will be donated to charity. The line-up consists of AKA, Riky Rick, Nasty C, Fifi Cooper, Zakwe, Vetkuk and Mahoota, DJ Sbu, Shabbisto, Sphectacular and Naves, Major League DJ’s, Jay Spitter, Sergio Taylor, Chrizozo, Ms Jones, DuBoiz, Khanyi Mbau, Klenkie, Malwela, TrendyL and Mpako. It will be hosted by Lungile Mhango of Ligwalagwala FM.

The MPUCA all-white Sunday soul session on October 2 will be held at the DreamSouth Lounge at a cost of R150.

The line-up consists of Jay Spitter, VusiNova, Afrotraction, Pressure & AJ, Amon Mokoena, TlakiBest, Sweetmike and Ishmail Ibrahams. It will be hosted by Khaya Angel of Ligwalagwala FM
