Tourist’s car overturns at KNP

The man, who is yet to be identified, had only spent a day at the park

A male tourist from Limpopo was rushed to an unknown Nelspruit hospital after his car overturned during his visit to the Kruger National Park on Tuesday afternoon.

The man, who is yet to be identified, had only spent a day at the park when his car overturned on the H1/4 road near Satara. He was booked at Maroela Camp for two nights and had intended to spend more than a week at Satara Camp.

Head of communications at the Park, William Mabasa said the cause of the accident had not yet been established . A helicopter and a local doctor were summoned to the scene and the injured man was airlifted to a hospital in Nelspruit.

“We wish the client a speedy recovery; and would also like to take this opportunity to appeal to tourists who visit the Park to please remain alert at all times whilst driving, especially with the upcoming hot season,” said the Acting Head of Communications – SANParks, William Mabasa.
