Special voting has officially started

Local government elections have officially started for special voters.

MBOMBELA – Today and tomorrow is the official voting day for the people who have registered for special votes.

Voters have been trickling in very slowly at the Civic Center situated at Mbombela local municipality.

IEC deputy presiding officer, Humphrey Dladla said: “Special voting has officially opened for those who have registered. We call out to people to come out to cast their votes. We expected the number of people to increase by lunch-time until late in the afternoon as many are still at work,” he added.
Mr Charles Nkosi, who came in uniform from his line of duty as a traffic officer, to cast his vote said: “I feel good after voting, as my vote is my voice for the upliftment of Mbombela and the country as a whole.
There was no way I was not going to vote, I registered early in preparation for this day. Voting is like taking a decision on what and how you want the government to deliver to its people.” He further called out on people to come out in numbers and exercise their right.
