True Love is more than skin-deep

One of the items in Bongi's bucket list is to start an organisation that will help educate people living with albinism to know that the condition is not a curse.

MKHUHLU – In a society where people with albinism face multiple forms of discrimination, Bongi Mkhabela is defying the odds.

The bubbly LLB degree holder says she never allowed her skin condition to rob her of living her life to the fullest.
“I’m a complete person who can do all things which other people do. The only different thing about me is that there’s absence of pigment in my skin. I have even found love,” she giggles.

Her husband, Godsave, a dark young man, confessed that he fell in love with Bongi for the kind and funny woman she is.

Mpumalanga News caught up with the couple and it was quiet obvious that her husband, Godsave Mkhabela is smitten. He says they met on Facebook in 2010 and one thing led to another to them tying the knot in 2012.
“I treat her as an ordinary person with no limits because she is normal,” Godsave said. The couple affectionately call themselves Top Deck.

They both get to share the spotlight with the husband doing stand up comedy and public speaking. They also do programme directing for special occasions, as a couple or individually. To book the Top Deck for events, interested people can contact Godsave on 076 295 9493.
