Gospel concert to bring unity

"I advise people to go and get their tickets now, because they are selling like hot cakes."

This weekend Mbombela won’t only be a hub for entertainment, but also for prayer and spiritual healing.

The Peace and Unity Concert, to be hosted by Big Fish, Sipho Makhabane, is taking place this Saturday at Mbombela Stadium.

Huge names in the gospel industry will grace this auspicious event, and everything is set for the big day.

One of Mpumalanga’s giant gospel groups, Masibuyele KuJehova, has confirmed their readiness, and says they are excited about what God will do.

“We are wholesomely ready, all rehearsals have been polished out, but we are more excited about what the Almighty will be doing on the day.

The people are encouraged to come through with their families, the sick will be healed, all burdens will be handed over to Jesus as it should be,” said Sisi Mabuza of Masibuyele KuJehova.

She also confirmed that fans should look forward to performances of their new songs, and a touch of their classics.

“Sibaphatsele sigadla sesibusiso. I will not divulge much, but it will be epic, and people will not return home the same,” she added.

The Big Fish himself has weighed in on the matter to warn Lowvelders not to allow history to repeat itself.

“This is going to be one humongous event, which should not be missed under any circumstances.

I advise people to go and get their tickets now, because they are selling like hot cakes.

In 2011, I organised an event of the same nature, and a number of people were left out and disappointed because they did not secure their tickets on time.

It should be avoided by all means this time,” said Sipho Makhabane, organiser of the event.

According to Makhabane, a number of artists were added to the line-up, both nationally and locally.

Artists such as Fikile Mlomo, Simon Sibiya “Isikorokoro”, and S’gwili Zuma, will now be part of the show.

Joyous Celebration will also be part of the event, alongside Rebecca Malope and Keke.

“During my visits to the local churches, I have discovered three budding artists who were exceptional and I had to include them.

I have also made a promise to them that I will record and mentor them.

Most of the artists in my company were discovered at churches, I’m hoping these ones will also emerge to be great artists,” said Makhabane.

According to him, all the festivities will be recorded on DVD, which will later be made available in stores.

“This will not be a normal event that comes and goes. We are praying for peace in Africa, road accidents, and everything else that has plagued us as a continent.

People will also be receiving their blessings and breakthroughs, we need to have it documented, and it will be made available in stores for sale.”

Sipho went on to express his sincere gratitude to the sponsors of the event, saying it would not have been possible without their contributions.

“I would like to thank Mbombela Local Municipality, MTPA, RTMC, Ligwalagwala FM, and of course, Mpumalanga News.

They have helped me and the community at large, a great deal,” he concluded.

Tickets are available through Computicket at R200 and VIP at R400.
