The Sun Riders Motorcycle Club wants to show that biking is not all about high revving and pulling stunts, but also about helping those in need.

The club will host a mass bike festival at Mbombela Stadium on May 29 and 30. According to Barberton-based Trompies Matsane, the organiser of the event, various activities will take place over these two days.

“On Friday May 29 we will have a pre-party at Nelspruit Shisanyama (Coyotes) where several DJs will perform. These include DJs Zoe, Klenkie, Chrizozo, Sfiso, Abutsakhi, Ismail Abrahim, Zinhle and Trevor Dee. Entrance will be R50 for this event,” said Matsane.

On Saturday activities will commence at 10:00 at Mbombela Stadium with a mass ride to a chosen organisation. Since the event is being hosted to accommodate families, Matsane said food stalls, beer gardens and campsites will be made available.

“Revellers will be treated to some spectacular stunts by bikers. There will also be competitions for them in which they stand a chance to win bikes,” he said.

He said later on in the day there will be music entertainment where artists and DJs like Shabbisto, Ocean, Noise SA, Lolo Morepa, Mccoy, Less, Twin, Manda, Veli Vega, Tee Tee and Uncle Mdu will entertain the crowd.

“Overall, those who will attend the event can expect the sounds of high revs with loud pipes and screeching wheels to reverberate into the sky of Mbombela. The music will cater for all genres.”

The event will also serve as the official launch of Sun Riders Motorcycle Club. Bikers from neigh-bouring countries are also expected to attend. Entrance is R70. when the gates open at 10:00 and R100 after 18:00.
