Panga gang to appear in court

The arrest of the group comes after local police and community members worked tirelessly to track down the members of the group, who have been terrorising the community.

BARBERTON – Seven members of the panga gang who were arrested last week, are expected to appeared in the Magistrate Court for bail application today.

Mpumalanga News has since learnt that community members have planned to picket outside the court as a way of opposing their bail application.

The arrest of the group comes after local police and community members worked tirelessly to track down the members of the group, who have been terrorising the community.

This community is known for its stance to fight against crime but its image was almost tainted because of this notorious gang, who is alleged to have committed a number of offences.

According to police the spokesperson of the local police Const Tutu Nkosi, the gang was arrested in one of the local taverns following the police’s festive operations.
