Parents vow to protect Cefups academy

This comes as a response to the recent march, organised by members of the ANC Youth League (Ancyl), to the school where they vowed to make it ungovernable.

MBOMBELA – Some parents of pupils at Cefups Academy say they will ensure that anarchy is avoided at this institution.

This comes as a response to the recent march, organised by members of the ANC Youth League (Ancyl), to the school where they vowed to make it ungovernable.

“We were surprised by the march and as parents we were not consulted. We are the ones who take our kids to the school because we want the best for them.

“Why is there all this negativity against Mkhatshwa? It seems like there is a vendetta against him and we have learnt that there are stakeholders who had even set up funds to support Ancyl in their move.

Why will government support such a motion because even the chairperson of the youth league is not a role model to the learners,” said a reliable source.

He added that the closure of the school would only enrich Mkhatshwa and his family because he can claim millions from the school.

He added that during a parents meeting held last Sunday, the majority of them resolved that the school should not be closed and discipline should be instilled.

“It is through discipline that our children will be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Today we are law-abiding citizens of the country because discipline was instilled in us.”

The source added that the parents had their reasons for sending their kids to Cefups, which was not to kill them but to help them have a better education to become future leaders.

“Governemnt left us with no option, that is why we send our kids here. Some private schools are far too expensive and learners have to pass certain tests before they can be admitted.

They only admit the best while at Cefups no tests are written, that school polishes a cracked diamond to a smooth one, the majority of those who matriculated there are in leadership positions.”

One parent of Witbank, whose child had failed in many schools says, “I couldn’t believe when I saw my child’s scripts.

Ever since she joined the school, his results had greatly improved from 20 per cent to 82 per cent. This shows that children are able to do their utmost best when pushed to go the extra mile.

“Yes, it is painful that someone died allegedly after being beaten, but we should know that life and death lies in the hands of God,” she added.
