All roads lead to Pretoria this weekend

Hotrods will torch the tarmac in Pretoria at the Mahem raceway on Saturday.

The Mahem Oval Raceway in Pretoria West will host round two of this year’s National Hotrod Tour on Saturday, with 38 entries taking to the tarmac.

The premier Group A category will see Seef Fourie Junior as victory favourite after he took the opening championship round at the Vereeniging Ultimate Raceway last month.

His closest adversaries should include drivers like Frans Joubert, defending South African champion Rudy Myburgh, Jason Loosemore, Neville Loosemore, British visitor Dick Hillard, Amos Cockeram, Heath Bent and Jody Viana. Group B should see Michelle Loosemore, Andries du Preez, Pieter Goosen and Vincent Botes at the front end.

Backing the championship racing will be events for 1 660cc Modified Saloon cars, Super Saloons, Stockrods, Midgets, Micro Midgets and 125cc karts. The gates will be open from noon, with qualifying to commence at 4pm and racing at 6pm.
