After selling approximately 30 000 motorcycles and related leisure products over the past 10 years in the industry, Cayenne Group sales director and co-owner Craig Langton has witnessed every possible adverse situation a South African can experience. After sharing those experiences with his customers and friends, Langton was determined to get the best minds and companies together to offer a product aimed specifically at keeping motorcyclists and leisure enthusiasts safe.
“The project started just over a year ago when I realised as a motorcycle and leisure community we have unique requirements focused towards us and our families,” Langton said.
“It is common knowledge that the motor vehicle industry receives all the innovation in South Africa, as the market size far exceeds that of the motorcycle industry. Very often we find motor vehicle products such as tracking devices, medical assist, alarms and roadside assist adapted to the motorcycle industry instead of the products being pioneered or designed specifically for the motorcycle and leisure industry.
“On average, at least four customers require our assistance daily and it’s rarely due to a mechanical failure. It’s nearly always something simple and small, but it causes havoc and unnecessary stress in one’s life, especially when you don’t have a dedicated number to call. Whether it’s a puncture on the way to work, fuel that has run out, a flat battery, a fuse, an accident, or the bike won’t start, hitting a pothole, or a stone through the radiator – essentially everything Africa throws at motorcyclists daily, we have a product that can assist you,” Langton says.
