Mekaeel finally gets to do what he loves, comedy
Mekaeel, who is renowned for his production acumen, has partnered with his longtime friend Wezalibeatz to form a dynamic comedic duo.
Mekaeel ‘Yourboy_mekaeel’ Haffajee, a talented producer hailing from Carlswald, is now pursuing his lifelong passion; comedy.
Having been camera-shy as a child, Mekaeel decided to work behind the scenes and become a producer.
However, this year he is finally breaking out of his shell by making a foray into the world of comedy.
Mekaeel, who is renowned for his production acumen, has partnered with his longtime friend Denzal-Wesley Moonsamy (20) to form a dynamic comedic duo.
Despite having used music as a means of self-expression and identity establishment, Mekaeel never considered it his true calling.
In fact, he had always harboured ambitions of becoming a YouTuber, but his insecurities prevented him from pursuing it earlier.
Now, Mekaeel has reached a point where he is no longer bothered by others’ opinions.
His sole aim is to bring joy and inspiration to others. Mekaeel and Moonsamy known as Wezalibeatz initially connected on social media when they were both music producers, united by their shared passion for music.
This eventually led to the creation of their comedic duo.
“I’ve known Wezalibeatz for almost five years now. Last year, I was living in Secunda and he was living in Durban. We both moved to Midrand around the same time and united,” said Mekaeel.
“One day as we hung out, we just had this idea about becoming YouTubers.”
Mekaeel firmly believes that solo work is infinitely more challenging than collaborating as a team.
“When working in a group with a common objective, achieving success is much more feasible.”
Furthermore, the duet comprises two individuals who possess striking differences but also share many similarities.
In recognition of the importance of consistency in their industry, the duo releases videos on their YouTube channel.
