Mekaeel back with new single and visuals
The hit song which is set to be released on all music platforms on August 1 has already landed on Youtube on July 21 and currently has over 28 000 views.
After releasing his three-track EP, Triumph on June 30, Mekaeel ‘Yourboy_mekaeel’ Haffajee is once again set to spill another buzzing hip-hop single.
The Carlswald hip-hop producer has featured a well-known and talented Zambian artist, Ruff Kid in his latest single, Tabawina.
The hit song which is set to be released on all music platforms on August 1 has already landed on YouTube and currently has more than 28 000 views.
Speaking to Mekaeel about how the feature came about, the local virtuoso producer told Midrand Reporter that the hit single was ‘cooked’ virtually after chatting with Ruff Kid on social media.
“I was scrolling on Instagram and I noticed that he [Ruff Kid] follows me so I decided to hit him up for a collab,” Mekaeel explained.
“We worked together and made more than 10 songs. At first, I thought we were gonna make two songs but he liked my beats and decided to work on an album titled Made it in Jozi. The album is not out yet but it is coming.”
Ruff Kid has worked with several SA big artists including Emtee, and this for Mekaeel could be a huge co-sign.
“When I heard his music I found it very unique and different. I wanted to mix his music culture and mine to turn it into one and that is what we did with not just Tabawina but the whole album.
